2016 – August – Seven Years Young
The Heart and Soul Singers will celebrate seven years of singing together on Tuesday 2 August. With not an itch in sight, it is an amazing effort for a group that started with nine people.
We will also be celebrating the Canberra Southern Cross Club’s support as we have been included in their 2016 Annual Community Support Grants.
Our sincere thanks go to the Club who is a great supporter of small groups like us and their assistance and support is greatly appreciated!
Our Year so Far………
2016 – March – Tuggeranong Sing-along Group
This group meets fortnightly and is managed by Communites@Work and proudly sponsored by the Canberra Southern Cross Club Tuggeranong.
Always an enjoyable gig, we invited our audience to sing along with us if the some of our songs were familiar to them. This is a regular event on our performance calendar, with an opportunity to have coffee together afterwards.
2016 – March – Connect and Participation Expo
Our stall was opposite the ramp again this year and we had many lovely visitors stopping to find out who we are and what we offer. There was the usual friendly buzz with much activity going on; from impromptu ‘pop up’ performances to martial arts ‘fisticuffs’ opposite our table which kept us entertained!
The day was both well organised and set out with many organisations represented. It was a fun day of self promotion for groups not unlike us!
2016 – January – An early return for a sad departure
We began our term early this year as our first commitment was a farewell to one of our long standing songbirds and one of the founding members of ‘Heart and Soul’. The forever young Edith will always be remembered for her friendliness, infectious enthusiasm and love of life. She will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mravalzlamier Edith!
